Grandma's Honey Cookies

1/2 cup liquid honey
1/2 cup cream
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. cloves


Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Add honey and cream. Add dry ingredients.
Refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.
Roll out to 1/4" thickness. Cut circles. Put a bit of jam in the center, fold in half and press seam.
Bake at 375˚ for about 10 minutes till golden.
Make glaze of icing sugar, water (or milk) and a little vanilla extract. Ice when warm.
